Don’t forget the church that took all of them in. At least they showed the better side of MV. What is really sad though is not one resident tried to provide a job and a place to live for at least one person. Not even just one. Not one. Instead they were all “resettled”. Scary way they think.

@Richie Greign Isn’t that the same as dumping an entire jet load of people off in White Plains, NY in the dead of night? The government has been doing just that all over the country. And why couldn’t one , just one person in MV hire an additional grounds keeper, a helper, etc. just one??? Not even one person on that whole wealthy island could do even that. Some where a holy man said, “Whatever you do to the least of your brethren, you do to me.” Guess they missed that line somewhere. Actually the FL governor put them in a place of much more opportunity than a place crowded with immigrants. A good point was made with this event as everyone up north has turned a blind eye to what is happening at the boarder. No one approves of the collapse of our boarder and even many deny it is happening like Press Secretary Jean-Pierre but they are just people wanting a better life. Plus they are the hardest working people you ever saw. If we are going to help them then the whole country needs to be involved even those isolated in wealthy economic geographical locations. Not just with taxes and donations but step up to really help. It’s time to share your good life.

@NFLGuru22 Obama has a 29 acre estate there he paid reportedly $12 Million for. They sure missed an opportunity to help these people even for a short time and maybe even hire one or two to work for them, Nope! The real person is always revealed by their actual lifestyle and their actions. Resettlement was the 24 hour response. With great wealth comes great responsibility. Many classy wealthy people have shown that with gifts and foundations. Even the sister island of Nantucket missed a chance to show some humanity. Invite them there, help them in some way find work there or elsewhere. One of the most powerful owners of the Carlyle Group lives on Nantucket. They own hundreds of companies and employ thousands of people. He could have spoken up with some sort of assistance. Nope. Not in my backyard and not my problem. True colors revealed.
