I had a FL condo for 18 years near the water. It was well maintained and passed the big FL inspection too. I saw my fees and assessments grow every year. I had a great condo association and wonderful neighbors too. Thank goodness I still had a home in the mountains of WV where I went in summer and fall. I sold in March of 2024. Took less than I wanted but I got out and live financially much more comfortable. I still love FL but also thankfully I am an RVer and love the FL parks and camping. This market situation in FL for condos is definitely a reset. My buyer got in at a good price and a condo with hopefully no more surprises. They will be fine but for me on a fixed SS income I was getting squeezed. In WV my expenses are greatly reduced and I love the mountains. Everyone in these situations needs to take a good hard look at their next step.
