  1. China is the one who escalated tensions. I do not accept that visiting a country and talking is ever the basis for an "escalation". I really dislike how we on the left don't accept tyrants in our own country, but we blindly accept the tyrants in other countries. There is no reason to blame ourselves for China acting like a child and being a bad actor. I think the arrogance is always thinking the US has to control the reactions of bad people in the world and that Taiwan has no agency to say no if they didn't want Pelosi to come.
