7 million died of Covid, but about roughly half of those deaths were prior to a vaccine being widely available. So you can't exactly go back and time and pretend that you could retroactively save all 7 million people.

17:32 Pediatric flu deaths were anywhere between 37 and 188 each year prior to Covid and the CDC estimates that those numbers are way undercounted and should be several times higher. So I wouldn't call 776 total deaths from the start of the pandemic as that unusual. Especially for something that spread far more than a typical flu in a short amount of time.

Natural immunity wasn't just "Let everyone get covid". Natural immunity is was taking into consideration that people who had covid had some level of immunity to getting severe covid. Which is not much different different than vaccine immunity. Yes you can get covid multiple times, just like most people who got vaccinated also got covid. Many countries around the world took that into consideration.

There was vitriol against people who supported vaccination and vitriol against people who didn't want to be vaccinated. It was a fundamentally dumb issue that should never have become political, yet somehow we're still here because people dug into their positions and have held onto their grudges for years now.

@Puppets4sale There was that, but also completely unscientific claims and conspiracies about covid cures and the vaccine, that put peoples lives in danger. Like 5G, Bill Gates and microchips, hydroxychloroquine, downplaying the number of deaths, purposely having mass gatherings before a vaccine was available, acting as if vaccines don't work or is designed to kill people. So I definitely see the crazy and the overaction from all sides.
