It doesn't take balls to rant irrationally into a microphone. It takes balls to admit to everyone that you were wrong about Trump being good for the progressive movement. I'm pretty sure that Sam would find it difficult to work with anyone who just makes up reality as they go along without any facts to back it up. Jimmy needs someone to fact check his bs and temper his emotions. Without that he's more hurtful than helpful.

@jadezee6316 I've listen to Dore since before he had his own show and when he got his own show he used his platform to push nonsense about Trump being good for the progressive movement. Which is when I stopped listening to him. Now has he owned up to this mistake? Is the country better off with a quarter million people dead and being on the verge of war with Iran? Is Bernie Sanders the president elect? Are we better off with hundreds of conservative judges that were appointed? Is he is on the record admitting his f*ckup? If so I might start listening to him again. Otherwise he's a waste of time and just the Trump of the Left, all bravado and no solutions.

@nwagner643 In other words you have no plan to get anything. Except to just complain about shit we already know about... Surprise Surprise. Sitting around and bitching doesn't accomplish anything. I'm sorry if reality is inconvenient for you, but a half measure is better than no measure when those are the only choices you have in front of you. If you want a different choice then you advocate for those choices when you have the opportunity to do so, but the cost of your inaction is the difference between literal life and death for some people who don't have the luxury of sitting around letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. This is why Sam despises you people.

@nwagner643 Your inaction is the same as having thousands of people die. It doesn't matter what you "want", no one can snap their fingers and get Medicare for All. However if the choice before you is to improve healthcare or do nothing and you chose to do nothing you are effectively giving more leverage to people who could care less about 40,000 people who die in the system. Do you not get that? Yes and Trump escalated those bombings and bragged about selling weapons to the Saudis so they can do a genocide in Yemen. Under Obama/Biden we entered into a peace deal with Iran. Trump ripped up that deal and proceeded to hire people like Jon Bolton who promptly tried to start a war with Iran. Never mind the coup attempt in Venezuela. We were on the verge or open war with Iran multiple times during the Trump administration and we assassinated one of their top leaders. Understand that Trump and Israel are doing everything they can RIGHT NOW to prevent Biden from reentering a peace deal with Iran. A nuclear scientist was just assassinated and Trump has been asking about doing another Iran strike before he leaves office. Do you understand how war with Iran will make everything else look like a cakewalk in comparison? Yes the choices we have are not great, but THERE ARE CHOICES.... If you just sit around complaining and ignoring the choices we have, while having no plan of your own, then you're not really helpful to anybody. You're just a warm body that feeds the machine.

@nwagner643 No we just acknowledge reality and try to figure out plans for "less evil" so that "less people" suffer instead of sitting around bitching about the circumstances. Again, just bitching about it doesn't help anyone or anything without a strategy. Throwing up your hands and saying "life sucks" might feel good in the moment, but doesn't actually DO ANYTHING to improve things one bit. It just doesn't. Letting fascists take over because the other side isn't ideal or the choices aren't ideal only causes more people to suffer and die, because those people have plans even if you don't. The question is whether you're in the fight or not.

You're choosing to do nothing and pretend you're somehow doing something. Sorry if I don't have respect for people who just sit on the sidelines. Furthermore YOU ARE in fact "maintaining the empire" just by living here. All of your tax dollars go to "maintain the empire". You're basically a lump of meat plugged into the matrix. You take advantage of everything you have by being in an "empire" yet do nothing to actually change it. The Military Industrial Complex has no problems milking you while you sit around complaining.

You don't give a sh!t about people and real consequences, all you care about is feeling good about your fake moral high ground.

@nwagner643 And doing nothing about it doesn't actually change anything now does it? Obamacare has saved the lives of at least a hundred thousand Americans , perhaps hundreds of thousands, since it's inception between the patient protection regulations, eliminating preexisting conditions, and the millions who were able to get coverage as as a result of it. Is it perfect or what we want ultimately? No. However if it was up to you then the thousands of people who were saved and the millions of families who were indirectly effected (by not going bankrupt, not losing a loved one, etc.) would have just been allowed to suffer because of "corporatists in the Democratic party". You pretend as if you're saying something new and profound, when you're really not. What is your plan for saving the most lives other than just complaining? Being a NPC complaining about you "took an arrow in the knee" doesn't accomplish anything, sorry.

@nwagner643 No I suggest you maximize your efforts to save more lives and cause less suffering. We're not blind to the problems in the system dude. We're just not using it as an excuse to do nothing. You pretend as if recognizing the problems in the system is the last step when its only the first of many. Sitting around complaining while waiting for a magic politician or magic third party to come around and solve all your problems for you doesn't get you anything other than an unearned sense of self righteousness. Meanwhile there are decisions we can make TODAY that can change the lives of hundreds, thousands, even millions of people. We can also elect politicians that are more open to these ideas and shift the overton window. You can scream about politicians not living up to your ideals, but you get the luxury to do that while a child who will never see their parents again does not.

Organize and promote progressives at the local and national level. Of course. Duh... However in the system we have every election is a binary choice and when one of those choices is the lesser evil, YOU PICK THE LESSER EVIL. You don't just step back and whine about your choices. There is absolute no doubt that when it comes to the Military Industrial Complex, Courts, Regulations, Taxes, Healthcare, Immigration, Race Relations, Pandemic Response, Corruption, Climate Change almost EVERY metric you can think of has taken a big step backwards under Trump. If you cannot recognize that then you simply have ideological blinders on and the only reason you're into politics is to smell your own farts and feel good about yourself rather than actually helping people. Fighting Biden and making some progress is far better than fighting Trump and moving backwards. Period.

@nwagner643 Sorry, but you're just wrong. The military budget was declining under Obama since 2011. Trump called the military budget "depleted" and started advocating for more spending. It'll be 130-150 billion greater than when Obama left office. Trump gave the CIA more freedom to do drone strikes and revoked the Obama rule to actually report civilian casualties. So now we won't even know how many civilians we are killing. Never mind the fact that we're on the verge a war with Iran. Over 2 million people lost health care coverage under Trump. Trump exited the Paris climate agreement (that we entered into under Obama) and proceeded to deregulate the oil and coal industries. Which includes more offshore drilling, opening up MILLIONS of acres of federal protected lands to oil production, additional pipelines, etc. Trump literally got into a fight with CA on lowering their fuel efficiency and emission standards and they wouldn't do it. If all you do is listened to Jimmy Dore's idiotic rants on how everyone is the same, then you'll be ignorant to the actual issues.

@nwagner643 Ah it's the classic Jimmy Dore non-sequitur that pretends that a politician not being perfect on an issue, means they are exactly the same as another politician that is bad on an issue. Never mind the fact that the largest green energy investment in our country's history happened because of Obama and is the reason why company's like Tesla even exist today. Never mind the 2500% increase in solar and 300% increase in wind that happened because of this. Never mind the half a trillion savings in increased energy standards which Trump has been trying to roll back. Somehow it's all the same in your mind because of the couple times Obama allowed "artic drilling" compared to the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of acres in federal forests and nature preserves that Trump has opened up. Including drilling in the artic. Sorry, but you're not a serious person. RIGHT NOW the Trump administration is rushing to auction off millions of acres in the Arctic national wildlife refuge before Biden takes office. --"In Trump's first year Pelosi and the Democrats increased the defense bill $10 billion over what Trump asked for." Key words there are what "Trump asked for". You'll always have opportunist who want to cash in when a big budget is on the table. The point is that Obama had asked for less every year.

No Name I don't know who or what you're talking about. You need context in your comment. If you're talking about Biden, there was no "Libyan Genocide" so I have no idea what you're talking about there. I don't know what prisoners you're referring to unless you're talking about the torture of prisoners that was done by the Bush administration in Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, and various CIA black sites which has nothing to do with Biden either. So yeah I have no idea what you're talking about.
