Honestly 50% is not that high for the last Republican president... And it's hard to compare against people who haven't even announced yet, let alone started campaigning. Nikki Haley is pretty much the only one who has announced anything. If she hadn't I would guess she would be polling at 1% instead of 6%. If Liz Cheney is at 3% without even saying anything I wouldn't be surprised to see her at 8-10% if she actually announced she was running. Trump has basically been campaigning for the past 6 months and he was the last president, so 50% is hardly a blowout or anything.

@CitanulsPumpkin I'm guessing that only about 25% of the Republican party are part of that cult. Whereas the rest are just following whatever right wing media tells them to vote for. As long as right wing media continues to tepidly support Trump the right wing electorate will continue to support him because he has the most name recognition. Most of these people are not voting based on issues, only perceived popularity. Not much different than the support that Biden got in the Democratic party because he was constantly being propped up by the media.
