As a layman I've been saying the exact same thing for well over a year now. If you look at the studies, vaccination only provides a marginal benefit over natural immunity from already being infected with Covid, and if you're vaccinated a booster only provides a marginal benefit over the original vaccination. Also the two dose regimen for the initial vaccination should be spread apart more for more effectiveness.

@vanessawalker2656 A slight benefit and no one really knows the long term effects of constant boosters for months and years on end...

@vanessawalker2656 "Slight benefit" as in studies clearly showing a decrease in the likelihood of severe disease, hospitalization, and death. That doesn't mean you should be dead without vaccination, just like not wearing a seatbelt doesn't guarantee you will be killed in a car accident nor does wearing a helmet guarantee that you will be safe in a motorcycle accident. These things just lower your odds. I didn't get vaccinated until a little while ago because I already recovered from covid and even if I got reinfected with Covid the odds of a severe illness and death is pretty small with natural immunity. And vaccination on top of that only decreases reinfection and severe disease slightly. So I didn't see any reason, until I forced to in order to go to attend an event. If I told you to breath a gas were you had a 1% chance of dying or a 10% chance of lifelong health concerns would you do it? What if you the gas was already in your home and there was a medicine that could decrease your chances to .01% and 1%? We all play with odds every day of our lives. Even if the odds are small I wouldn't just ignore them. If vaccination is not the answer then at least make sure you stay healthy, get plenty of vit D, etc. to help fight off infections and lower your odds.

@lovesees4320 btw you still get myocarditis from the actual Covid virus. So it's kind of unknown whether there would be more or less myocarditis when people are getting it anyway from infections.

@georgeharrison6022 I'm referring to "hybrid immunity" where vaccination on top of natural immunity provides marginal additional protection against natural immunity alone. Vaccination only does better against natural immunity when you compare a recently vaccinated person to someone who was infected many months ago. There were a few studies that the CDC promoted which did that false comparison. However natural immunity generally lasts much longer than vaccination and is more comparable to someone who was fully vaccinated plus boosted at least once. However to get "natural immunity" you risk long term damage to your body recovering from Covid so I wouldn't recommend it as a solution for someone who hasn't already recovered from Covid.

@russellmania5349 Thinking that the vaccines are "poison" with zero evidence is just as dumb as thinking that vaccines are vitamins that must be taken regularly. If vaccines were "poison" then millions of people around the world would be dead or sick.
