How many combinations of "adult woman speaking" are actually that unique? Mark Hammill doing the Joker or James Earl Jones doing Darth Vader are undoubtedly unique voices because they're playing a character that most people can't emulate. However Scarlett Johansson was just speaking as a normal woman and I'm sure lots of women sound similar. So where's the line exactly?...

@obi-ron That's why I gave examples of Darth Vader and the Joker being unique... Did you read my comment? My question is how unique does something need to be in order to qualify? ScarJo is not the first woman to play an AI voice in a movie or a TV show. Heck you can find plenty of examples that sound similar to her going back 60 years for TV shows and movies.

@obi-ron in this case they got a voice actor, who they paid, who just sounded similar to ScarJo... Yes, the problem with all technology is that it is often used to cut costs. This has been going on for centuries now and certainly since the industrial revolution. To me this is a problem with our whole economic system that divides everyone into those who need to work and those who own the work. Exploitation has always been built into our economics, which is why slavery lasted so long.
