The ship was USCG Modoc, she was a part of the US Neutrality Patrol, and she wasn't "nearly attacked" as the vid suggests. The Swordfish from HMS Victorious, which were carrying the world's first naval air to surface radar, were flying in cloud, the squadron leader's telegraphist alerted him to a contact, and the leader, Eugene Esmond dropped below cloud base to ID the contact. He immediately recognised it as a neutral, but as he "eyeballed" the Modoc, his aircraft was spotted by lookouts on the Bismarck which was a number of miles away, and so lost the element of surprise in the Swordfish's attack on Bismarck.
