@nickdanger3802 Yes as well as the world's first working VT fuse, the British also GAVE to the US what the head of the America's Office of Strategic Studies described as "the most important cargo to reach US shores during WW2"... that "Most important cargo" being the cavity magnetron.

After they were handed the blueprints for the FIRST working VT fuse by the British via the "Tizard mission" in 1940.

A LARGE part of "US technology Advancement" during WW2 was provided by the British, one example being the "VT fuse" of this very video. Other scientific advances that were weedled out of the Britsh empire included the cavity magnetron (Described by the US Office of Strategic Studies as "The MOST important cargo to reach our shores during WW2"), for more details about the plethora of British technology handed over to the US during WW2 please read about the 1940 "Tizard Mission" The British received no technology from the US in return, but our UK generosity afforded us "preferred status" with access to US industrial might, as they profitteered from the British Empire during WW2. A more cynical mind might describe the situation as "blackmail in our British hour of need". The British also provided the majority of research for the US "Manhattan project" when it handed over the entirety of its prewar British "Tube Alloys" nuclear weapons research to the US. ("Tube Alloys" was the world's FIRST nuclear weapons research program, although it is virtually unknown to the world). During WW2 the British and US signed agreements to share the fruits of their entire nuclear research programs with each other... Britain provided it's full share of information, but when it came to the US they reneged and refused to hand over their part. For more information on this please search out and read about "the MAUD committee". The old adage about WW2 was that it was won with Soviet blood, US industrial might and British scientific brains.

I stopped watching as soon as ithe content creator said "the US developed the first proximity fuse" Utter BS. British scientific ingenuity being written out of history once more. The first working "variable timing" proximity fuse was developed by the British, but due to having insufficient industrial capacity to mass produce the fuse, their design (together with a large amount of other BRITISH cutting edge scientific research such as the cavity magnetron and the MUCH more advanced British nuclear weapons research codenamed "Tube Alloys" which provided the US with the majority of their work for the US "Manhattan Project") was handed to the US as part of the 1940 "Tizard Mission". Fecking poor research that hands over credit to the US when it was BRITISH research that achieved the first working proximity fuse. The US would have lost the war in the pacific if it hadn't been for the BRITISH VT fuse that was handed to them, together with the BRITISH cavity magnetron (described by the director of the US "Office of Strategic Studies" as "The most important cargo to reach our shores") and further hundreds of thousands of "GIs" lives were saved by the British "tube alloys" nuclear research which saved the US several years in the development of their atomic weapons, and prevented the US from having to launch "operation Downfall" (The US invasion of the Japanese home islands).

You don;t understnad the whole concept.... re watch the video and report back.

Why not clearly state that that it was THE BRITISH who invented the first working proximity fuse, and then handed its blueprints to the US as part of the "Tizard Mission" in 1940 together with many other BRITISH pioneering technical achievments amongst which was something that was later described by the director of the US Office of Strategic Services as "the most valuable cargo ever brought to our shores", the "cavity magnetron" ANOTHER BRITISH invention created by the British scientists John Randall and Harry Boot at Birmingham University that was a MAJOR contribution to winning WW2, and the advancement of human society. Also most people do not realise that the much vaunted US "Manhattan Project" was largely powered by BRITISH nuclear research. The world's FIRST atomic weapon research program was BRITISH and code named "Tube Alloys", and the fruits of that research effort was handed to the US supposedly in an "exchange" of each country's atomic research. But guess what? Yes the US reneged on the deal, took the British research and then refused to share theirs with Great Britain. As for the proximity "VT fuse" the US simply "tweaked" the British design and then used their massive industrial capacity to mass produce them as Britain's factories were already working at full capacity. Bloody yanks try to make out they won the war alone.

Bollocks.

It was nothing to do with the Americans.. the VT fuze was a BRITISH invention that was handed over to the US in 1940. Read about the "Tizard Mission".

My word what a complete pile of nonsense. We appreciate the efforts of the 127 NZ pilots who were involved in the BoB (from nearly 3000 RAF fighter pilots who took part) but where do you get the ridiculous idea they were concentrated in 11 group? And while Keith Park was a central figure in the battle, he was subsiduary to the Brit Hugh Dowding who prewar designed and pushed through the "Chain Home" RDF system that was the crucial part of the British defences, and prevented Fighter Command from being bled to death in the battle of France. If it wasn't for him Park would have had no aircraft to direct during the BoB. As for Dunkirk, please tell us what could the 10 divisions of the BEF could do against the 144 divisions of the Wehrmacht when the +150 of the French army decided to collapse around them.
