  1. Well, you could interpret emotions as a subconscious way of implementing rational decisions. Why do I feel anger? Because I was threatened and now I have to get back my secure positions etc. Unfortunetly, elections have never been about reason or scientific method or anything else. Why? Because who the hell would vote a dude that tells them to screw themselves over to save their country in 5 or 6 years when his term is of 4 years.

  2. Well, capitalism cannot fail because capitalism has no practical definition of failure like socialism and communism has (have?). In communism, failure occurs when the focus of the state is not the benefit of the people, but to serve the goals of those in power. And this has happened. And, ironically, not with Stalin as Stalin, however tyranical he might have been, still gave a lot back in terms of reforms, infrastructure economy etc. Many judge inter-war USSR forgetting from where they started. They were not Victorian Era Britain with multiple colonies to plunder and murder. They were a turd with a golden hat which did not even manage to properly industrialise. No. The fail of communism in USSR occured when the leaders tried to secure their position and outmatch the US on Western grounds instead of playing on their own terms. Through further extension, socialism fails when it reverts back to social classes. When people start clinging to their positions by any means instead of accepting they are worn out. But how can capitalism fail? Well, in practice we have no answer for 2 reasons: 1. We never had real capitalism, so TIK can shove every economy book he preaches up his ass. Economics and politics are, have been and will always be two branches of the same tree. You cannot separate them and say 'leave economics alone'. 2. The main ideea of capitalism is the transfer of capital. Aka invest and gain from your investments. However this is the general principle of humanity. We invest something to gain something in return. You cannot break that.

  3. He will literally try to convince you fascism is socialism. That's what he tried to do with the video on the Spanish Civil War. That War is of utmost importance. We could say that the SCW is the first of the 3 turning points that put Europe on crash course to the disaster that was WW2. (the other 2 being France accepting Germany's invasion of Czechoslovakia against Stalins begging to start the war now when Germany was still weak and of course Austria. I guess, symbolically, the Berlin Olympics could also count as a turningpoint). So, instead on focusing why the Great Powers were idle to the Germans clearly developing military capabilities and interfering in other nations' democratic elections, instead of trying to show how nothing was learnt by the Brits and French from the German combined arms used in this War, instead of showing how the Soviets supported the elected party and actually tried to stop the Nazis from gaining influence, we got a 30min+rant of how the Elected gouvernment and Francos fascists were basically one and the same thing because they were not capitalists.

For a 'litterate' historian like TIK, math is just capitalism: -20+5=1 and you postpone the debt until you either grow bankrupt or you become a company big enough that it would ruin the economy even more if you crashed so everyone works their asses off to help you out, and when you fail you put the blame on gouvernments and socialists.

  5. Brest-Litovsk was not overturned by Versailles as far as I remember. The Bolshevik nation (as it was bigger than Russia and yet not USSR) was not invited to the Treaty because the West still supported the Whites and the poles. With an Independed Poland and the Reds pushing back in 1919, reconquering Ukraine, there was no way for Germany launch a counter to regain those territories.

  6. People would starve in the East all the time. Quit blaming it on the Soviets. There other major famines in Russia before them. The reason why communism had failed to spread is hidden in history by the very ones that caused this course of events. The reason is simple: every communist revolution got crushed by Western or Western-backed powers. Heck, at the time of the Russian civil war, that thing was anything, but Civil War. You had US, UK, France, Czechoslovakia, Poland Japan, White Russians, Estonians etc. etc. all ganging up on the Reds. In Hungary, I almost screamed when TIK made a video about Hungarian fascism. The bolshevik/soviet/communist (however you want to call it) revolution there did not happen because the Romanian Army crushed their forces and occupied Budapest in 1919, sent there by the Western Powers. Plain and simple, they wanted to control at least all former Hungarian territory (including Transylvania which was promised to us for joining the Entente), the Western powers did not want a communist nation, so our army steam-rolled them. In Germany, there was also an attempt to create a communist state, but that got crushed as well. In China, foreign support for the nationalists prevented the communists from rising.
