@Edax_Royeaux Actually, it did put them in a favorable position. That was the whole point of the War of Manouver or Blitzkrieg or however you want to call it. The ace in the sleeve of Nazi Germany was not their offensive, but actually their mobility which allowed them to employ defense to perfection. The ideea was of using panzers to disrupt enemy lines was to insert yourself into a position the enemy could not lose, thus forcing them to attack you. Because of this, it is you who has the advantage of defence formation and tactics. Not only that, but there are other points. At this stage in the war, German tank and AT gunnery training as well as more sophisticated training was slightly above the Allies. However, these play little roles when advancing because you cannot shoot accurately on the move and if you stop, you become a target. However, if you put the gun/tank in a good, defensive position, it can aim perfectly at an enemy that cannot and is also hidden. Furthermore, the layout of German defences was excellent. (I recommend Military History Visualised for more and better explained details and examples).

@vassilizaitzev1 Barbarossa is basically three Stalingrads combined and more.
As for its success, it's paradoxal, but its success led to its failure and vice versa.
The success came because the Soviets were not expecting such large front (involving Finland and Romania) and because they were expecting the main German push to go south, after the oil and grains, so they concentrated there. But this did not happen and OKH went for a Battle of France style victory, aiming for the capital and hopping to demoralise the Soviets. As a result, the soviet lines were taken by surprise. Opening up the logistic lines through Romania allowed the Germans to put some effort in the South, while massing in the center. Soviet units trying to re-organise arrived in piecemeal, which were quickly overwhelmed by the German onslaught. Had the plan gone as originally intended, who knows what might have happened, but the shift of the strategic axes to the center really helped the Axis achieve those massive victories which paralysed USSR

Double engine, and a larger aircraft means more stability (because counter rotating propellers). What nguyen tried to tell you is that the guns, being used on an aircraft, would often hit the top parts of the armor (engine deck, roof armour) which were often pretty thing compared to other parts of the armour. Furthermore, attacks from above pretty much negate the effect of angled armour, as shells would come much closer to the normal, having to act against the nominal thickness of the plate, rather than the -flat plain' effective one (which is based on the angle of the slope). And you do not need 'a steep dive' to achieve this. You are not on a bomb run, you are on a gunnery one. Even a 3 degrees descending slope (so -3dg to the 'horizontal') would allow for great performance of guns if you start your attack run at a few hundred meters (in horizontal direction) The size of the plane allowed for more ammunition for the guns to be stored. With such a large relative velocity between airplane and tank, having more ammo to spend is much better. And, in the end, 'against medium and heavy tanks'. The soviets still had plenty of light tanks. It would be more than perfect against those. And the later 3.7s would be useful against T-34s as well

@Ph33NIXx 1. Falling back is not as easy as it sounds. One has to remember, a front is made of various strategic lines and points, not only fighting lines. You need to protect railways. You need to protect hills, roads, waterways etc. If you abandon those lines, you will suffer greatly in the long term, so you have to plug in the holes, otherwise, you will wake up, like it happened in this video and previously in the campaign, with trains casually passing through and enter a german sector of the railway and get two trains worth of soldiers literally mowed down without a chance to fight. If you fall back, you must make sure your communication and supply lines are not broken, otherwise, you will only dig your own grave.
2. About the Germans. Germans were always the better ones on the defensive. I cannot recall any important mistakes they made in that regard. Apart, from, well, ignoring their allies on the flanks at Stalingrad and letting themselves get encircled.
