  9. Me too! But if you like adventures - try to install some Linux distros on USB drive as Live! Try Mint. It's super easy (it will not erase your data if you will not install it on your HDD): 1. Download Universal USB Installer. https://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ 2. Run it! 3. Choose Linux Mint. 4. Download Linux Mint 19 (64 bit) with Cinnamon Desktop Environment. 5. Select your just downloaded ISO file. 6. Select your USB drive (4 Gb minimum, USB 2.0 minimum) 7. Set Persistent File to the max (around 4 Gb) 7. Hit "Create" - all data from USB will be lost! 8. Reboot from your USB and have fun! If you liked it - you can do full install. If you just want to mess around (like me) - just keep using USB drive. If you don't like it - just format you USB and you're fine!

  11. I could clean some things up (but not all): * Terminal is what you see if you would load your OS without Desktop Environment. It's a "container" for a Shell. * Terminal Emulator is an application that emulates a Terminal. You can't start a "real" Terminal inside a Desktop Environment - only an Emulator * Shell is a "language". That's how you communicate with your OS through the Terminal (or Terminal Emulator) * CLI is a Shell * In windows CMD is a CLI/Shell that runs in Terminal Emulator called Windows Console * PowerShell is a Shell that uses .NET Framework (versions < 6.0) or .NET Core/.NET (in versions >= 6.0) to communicate with an OS (through Windows Console) * Windows Terminal is a replacement for Windows Console (but it's classified as a Terminal Emulator) and the closes thing to a Linux Terminal Emulator. It's Open Sourced (as PowerShell v6.0+) and could run CMD, PowerShell, WSL (even at the same time!).

On Windows there are a better programs to open a PDF file: * Any web browser * Sumatra PDF * Foxit Reader On Linux ANY PDF reader is better than Adobe Reader! But some PDF's can't be opened in any program except Adobe Reader - in that situation you HAVE TO use that shit :-(

If you have an old PC and struggle with mainstream programs: Photoshop -> GIMP or Krita Illustrator -> Inkscape Reader -> Foxit Reader or Sumatra PDF MS Office -> Libre Office (disable the Java in Settings!) or WPS Office (only on Linux - Windows version has VERY annoing adware until you buy it!) Unity or Unreal Engine -> Godot Engine

  70. A common mistake! Terminal is not about giving commands to your OS - it's about using scripts to automate your interaction with an OS. Most users would be fine just by using GUI applications but programmers and sysadmins are still need Terminal/Terminal Emulators to automate their job. Or you want them to write a GUI application for every single case?
