You understand it wrong. I was replying to Rance! - "Coincidence?" - "Don't think so!" Isn't it easy to understand?..

Random random = new Random(); Programmer's joke. And an actual working line )))

If there is a computer - there will be a hacker. It's just the way how things work. Getting angry at that is... childish :-)
2
Sadly - that doesn't help. Just calms your brain and make you feel safe. Especially with technological problems :-)

Romanians are Slavs? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanians

* The simplest way is to download those files on VirusTotal (virustotal.com) It will check it for viruses with many antiviruses at the same time. * You could also use a good antivirus. I use ESET Internet Security * The more proffesional way would be using Virtual Machine with Linux for opening unknown files.
2
Don't think so!
1
Yeah. That is strange... She own a videogame shop and it even makes profit! I think... Maybe, customers just want to talk with her?
1
Using a Virtual Machine is a good idea. To see what they are hiding you have to be have some special knowledge ;-)
1
Setting up a VM is a good playground for unknown files ;-)
1
IT guy here: VPN would be if you ask one of the group of people to bring something for you. The next time you would just ask another one from the same group :-)
1
God is fine and all... But learning a little bit about computers and cybersecurity helps a lot more :-)
1
My advices: * Scan mods with your antivirus * Scan them with VirusTotal (it's a web site that scans with many antiviruses at the same time).
1
It someone really powerful wanted to cause him problems - he wouldn't have a working computer by now :-) That was a coincidence.

It's called "social hacking"

@Stettafire Sounds like a good advice. Thanks.

Why Kali tho? He couldn't use 99% of it's tools. Linux Mint is fine for normal users.
1
I would recommend ESET Internet Security (antivirus + firewall). You also could scan all unknown files with virustotal.com (VirusTotal). It uses a few antiviruses at the same time for scanning.
1
Yep ;-)

Security updates would not help if USER executes something himself ;-) Also he is probably using Windows Defender - not the greatest (but free) antivirus.
1
@dreammfyre If he has User Account Control - it must ask if the user really wants to run it. Most user would just click Ok without even reading. I'm not saying that Windows is a secure OS :-) A LOT depends on a user.
1
Just installing a Virtual Machine would be even cheaper (0$) ;-)

That's now I spot noobs - the have file extensions disabled :-)
1
From simple to hard: * A good antivirus. I use "ESET Internet Security" * You could also scan any file at virustotal.com * Open unknown files in Virtual Machine (like VirtualBox) * Open unknown files on Linux * Common sense. It cannot be installed - only obtained :-)
1
Sadly.
