Yep. That's unprofessional and unfair.

Windows 7 is still so popular because of: * Windows 8 has new Metro interface. It's more hated than early versions of GNOME 3 in Linux comminity. * Windows 10 collecting a lot of private user data. Yes you can disable 95% of that, but many users were spooked and don't want to mess with that. * Windows 10 costs money so not everyone wants to buy it. There was a possibility to update from Windows 7 up to Windows 10 FOR FREE but not everyone wants to do that. Clean installation is better. * Windows 10 have the same system requirements as Windows 7, but in reality it needs more system resources. And some people have shitty PCs. * Some Windows 7 users are actualy companies. And they don't care. And it's expensive for them.

Let us call it UDE: Ugly Desktop Environment

Linux Lite vs Xubuntu. What's the main differences? It's a little bit more user friendly (from what I see).

For all who like GUI package managers (like me) - Octoxbps. It's a Octopi but for XBPS. It's kinda abandoned so be warned! But there is a newer version from another author. Basically a fork (use that instead): https://www.reddit.com/r/voidlinux/comments/9i23ny/octoxbpsmod_a_qtbased_xbps_frontend_modified/

Can I use it like Live USB?
3
Yes. You install it once and you can update it forever. Explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5u2OXuN2fE

Maybe Amazon paying someone ;-)
3
Probably. VirtualBox is working almost "out of the box" :-) kvm/virt-manager need a lot of tweaking to be fast.

+Peter Jansen I didn't know that. Thanks. I'm using Windows 10 since Redstone 1
2
Some people don't like Metro :-) Me included.
2
+Peter Jansen I'm 100% agree.
2
No, he just used EU mirror instead of US :-)
2
It's not like we don't have QuteBrowser in Windows ;-)
2
FreeDOS then? :-)
2
If course Linux! It has more support.

So, KDE Neon is the best distro for getting familiar with KDE. I also know that: * Mint is the best for Cinnamon desktop environment * Solus is the best for Budgie desktop environment * Bodhi is the best for Maksha desktop environment What distro is the best for testing: * Xfce * LXDE * GNOME 3 * MATE * Some others?

@alexstone691 Your videocard probably is damaged. Go to service and ask them to test it.
2
@alexstone691 I understand.

"...is the only way to go in the Linux world" - isn't Linux about choices?
2
That could help: https://helpdeskgeek.com/linux-tips/bsd-vs-linux-the-basic-differences/

But XFCE is famous for low RAM usage. That's the strange thing :-)
1
Nice! Now we need "just" a few years to optimise it )))
1
Or Cinnamon :-) KDE is fine too!

Python may be easily speed-up or converted to C (and then compiled). * PyPy for speeding things up (it's a JIT compiler - still runs in Virtual Machine) * Nuitka for converting it to C and compiling to binary. Maybe developers use that :-)
1
True!

@ezequielortiz4188 :-)

If you checked Turkish distro - maybe you will check Russian Ubuntu distro? Just for the lulz :-) https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=runtu

"...or watching videos without disturbing others..." -> headphones.

VMWare Workstation is a great alternative for VirtualBox. But it's not free.
1
Good point

Yep!

Your more late reviews are much lazier than this one.

@d1sc1ple That's not that scary - there are tools to automate that process: 1:12:02

It's probably because systemd is too heavy for RPi.

He has a strong Texas accent :-)

I'm pretty sure it can run a Terminal based browser :-)
1
Thanks, I'll check it out :-) Ah, that's LXDE's Task Manager. It's not bad )))
1
Yeah. They have a very "fun" story with Java license too :-)

One of the Linux distributions! :-)

If you see the advantages and disadvantages don't bother you.
