Because big business and money win over human lives, always, in this wicked world. Surprised?

I'm going to give vitamin D a go. As an occassional sufferer of SAD, you have convinced me. Thank you so very much.

Will Thomson You can't even spell 'epidemiologist' correctly. You're a Russian troll-bot. Go away.

Want to be the head of the CDC? Well, hand your brain in at the door and come right in!

It's a pity we have no way of correlating how many people will die because of this non-panic concerning very small numbers of blood-clot cases. This needless delay will cost lives - many more lives than the tiny numbers Europe was intent on fretting over.
2
@kimberlyperrotis8962 Well done! Stay safe.

Covid has taught us a valuable lesson; with increased mask-wearing and hand-washing and social distancing, we can greatly reduce the number of deaths due to flu as evinced by the very low numbers of influenza victims this winter. Let's keep it going, I say.

@lightninggornall And soylent green is people! You won a tin-foil hat, well done. Now run along and let the adults talk. Buddy.

Here are some disturbing figures from the UK: 10% of doctors; 12% of nurses; and nearly a third of care-home workers have refused any and every vaccine so far...
2
By withdrawing vaccine programs for 2 weeks on so little evidence is more than foolish. It is dangerous. You are putting more lives at risk from Covid 19. If someone dies of a blood clot 10 days after vaccination it doesn't necessarily follow that the vaccine caused the clot. It might have. Or it might not have. The case must be investigated thoroughly of course. But to suspend all jabs is an overreaction.

WHO need to explain themselves and their behaviour to the world. They are not fit for purpose. The Texas authorities have removed the mask mandate because they know people aren't following the rules anyway. An empty gesture by a weak state leadership putting money before people's lives. Economic imperatives win. We lose. Disgusting IMO.

@fransmith3255 Thanks.

same here. information is power.

It looks like leaders and governments around the world are picking on the OxfordAstraSeneca vaccine for no good reason. They are ignoring the scientific data and/or pick-and-choosing stats that suit their inscrutable and irrational agenda. Why? What has this particular vaccine done to deserve such bullying treatment? Could it be political? Economic? Is that why flights in and out of India are still happening? Sod the citizens, let's just keep the world banks and global business happy?

If the virus was abroad in Italy in late August 2019 - and Chinese migrant workers/tourists were bringing it into Europe at that time - then how long had SARS-CoV-2 been spreading across China before that? The beginning of 2019? Even earlier than that? In other words, how far back does this cover-up go? Will we ever know? I'm a poet and I didn't know it...
1
@hanselz7853 I think you've failed to grasp what a cover-up is and how it functions...
1
@garyfumeaux9226 Very quick to present the 'Hitler' argument!?! You are dismissed, you troll!

That is the scariest red pen I've ever seen...

Wow. So glad I'm a Phizer boy! I'm a full-time carer for a family member so I had my first vac today at the age of only 50. Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake, but why do we need the second dose at all, anybody?
1
@thecook8964 Thanks. I'm sure regular Winter booster shots for this virus await us all for the foreseeable future.

Big business and government are more interested in weapons' development and creating novel chemicals/diseases with which to more efficiently maim, kill and subdue innocent civilians or potential revolutionary movements than doing anything of benefit for humankind. War is where the money is to be made, unfortunately. 'Money doesn't talk - it swears.' Bob Dylan

You would think that the US would lend a helping hand to Canada and its vaccine rollout problems. Why aren't they doing so?

I could have written this sorry work of fiction. No independent raw data examined. No timely access to the relevant labs in question. Obfuscation and delaying tactics aplenty by the Chinese authorities. A tissue of irrelevance and guesswork co-authored by the Chinese themselves. It's not independent or thorough in any way. The clean-up is complete. The cover-up has worked. The white-wash has begun.

Get well soon, mate! Take care.

If the United States is still allowing flights to and from India, we will probably see new 3rd and 4th waves across the whole world, very soon. In the race between vaccines and the virus, not enough people have been vaccinated fully to stop cases rising, new mutations will drive up community infections, and, sadly, more people will die who shouldn't die (and certainly wouldn't have if not for the greed and mendacity of the airlines and big business across this wicked world). My favourite quote from the ever-reliable and wise Bob Dylan: 'Money doesn't talk, it swears.'

I love it when Dr. Campbell goes on a little rant. Cuts out the nonsense and tells it as it is. We live in a global village, virus/vaccine-wise. It's in all our interests to help each other and get the entire planet vaccinated to end this horrible thing. The only thing standing in the way is money-grubbing and political shenanigans. Greed and the will-to-power defeat us every time. Sorry to sound like a silly old hippie - but I've had my fill of whataboutery and they-started-it-first-isms. Rant over.

@jerrycann9072 try the UK government's own official COVID website. I think it's SAGA's own research findings.
1
@jerrycann9072 Just try the search term 'healthcare workers refuse vaccine' in any web browser you like. The stats for the US are also pretty bad.

The door is shut BUT the horse has already bolted! What a shocker. Am I surprised? Sadly, no.

Your neighbours are complete idiots. Covidiots. If someone coughed at me that way, I'd knock their block off. Stay safe.

Such a shame some people will not follow simple, practical advice. They just don't care enough about other people's lives. I know that is harsh but it's true. They may not die. A family member of theirs they know and care about may not die. But someone will, somewhere, down the long chain of transmissible infection. Out of sight is out of mind. This pandemic has really turned over stone and revealed the cruel, the stupid, the selfish, the heartless that live and breathe amongst us.

I believe loneliness to be one of the most deleterious things that we can experience in this modern world. Lonely people have shorter lives and worst health, both physical and mental. Loneliness kills. The larger and busier the city, the more we can feel isolated and anonymous, disconnected from life and other people. I have been lonely many times in my life and I am a survivor. I'm my own best friend and like my own company - but we all have a longing for belonging: a sense that we matter to someone and that we are not unimportant. If you feel this way or have experienced any kind of lonesomeness, remember: you are not alone in being alone. (I stole that line from Sting). I wish everyone peace, love, and kindness - and I'm grateful to Dr. John for sharing his vulnerability and for his thoughtfulness.

@vickit3124 And to you. Thanks.

@rosiehawtrey Thanks.

I don't know about anyone else here but I'm not good with needles. It's not a phobia as such (nobody actually enjoys getting a needle stuck into their flesh - unless you are particularly that way inclined) and the sight of blood doesn't affect me. I just don't like them. So this video was a hard watch - especially the last five minutes. All that was to say this: I wonder what the blood-clot risk is of getting a very detailed, time-consuming tattoo, or lots of tattoos all over one's body?
