  4. Even someone with a tin ear can discern quite easily that these two songs are the same song. Not accidental plagiarism. Not an example of an artist being 'inspired' by another artist. Not a wild, unintended fluke or one-in-a-million chance agreement of form and structure. This is song theft, plain and simple. The writing team behind "Levitating" might as well be wearing striped prison gear and a bank-robbers' mask, carrying shooters and toting a sack with SWAG written on it. Dua Lipa and co were just hoping to get away clean without having to share their ill-gotten gains with the original writers. In the long run, it would have been cheaper and easier for them to have bought the song off Artikal Sound System - or just to have done an official cover version and pay proper royalties to the copyright holders in the first instance. Why do big music companies pull this kind of crap? Because business is business. And money talks. In fact, it swears. And theft, underhand practices, lying, cheating - and denial when caught in the act - is STANDARD PRACTICE. It's business as usual.
