Modern life drives you fooking crazy.

I support the striking nurses 100%. I support all people who are now striving for better wages and better working conditions. So, don't take this the wrong way. But, please, please, please, stop posting 'funny' dancing videos on Tiktok and Twitter. It not funny or even mildly diverting. It looks fake and unserious and facetious and crass and flippant and entitled and smug...and just, wrong. Patients are missing out on vital treatments for long-term health conditions - and colleagues on emergency cover are having to work their ruddy socks off - while you step it and shake a leg in a drafty car park in Slough. Just don't.

I understand and appreciate that they had to disguise her voice. But why did they have to make her sound like Vogon Jeltz reciting the third worst poetry in the Universe?
12
Why hasn't Channel 4 interviewed the Labour and Tory leaders in the same way as this extended, deeper-explored examination of potential future policies of the political parties?
12
I'm cool. My direct ancestors (and collateral relatives) where digging coal down mines or being pushed up chimneys to brush them or just sitting in the street starving to death and begging for hard bread. Now, where's my fooking compensation for something or other I never experienced and which doesn't define me in any way...
12
Business as usual. When and how will it ever end?
11
I wouldn't swim in that river. I even hated swimming lessons at school because of kids surreptitiously pissing in the pool.
11
Why do you think Nicola Sturgeon is reluctant to use the phrase: "we have nothing to hide" or even: "we are innocent" ?
11
People speaking like pretend adults. Acting like children.
11
"Quite frankly, we have all had a pretty grim couple of years..." Eh, you haven't, love. Nor have all your overpaid, underachieving, Tory colleagues.
11
Well done, Channel 4 News. We will get rid of the terrible Tories, one day at a time - death by a thousand cuts. This episode: Rwanda, The Peaceful Years. A Country Fit For Any Immigrant. 🤣🤣🤣
10
A terrible war in Africa only worth two minutes, fifty-five seconds.
10
Guilty person says I am not guilty. This is not so much news as the half-shadow that news can sometimes cast on the very air.
10
I have an old dirty sock lying around somewhere. Maybe that could be made leader of the Church?
10
mansions don't pay for themselves. viva las vegas!

@dragonfly6908 That was simply plain-speaking. It was the perfect descriptive word to describe the person in question. If you don't want to be labeled as scum...then stop acting like scum. Simples.
9
@wlsn77 We need both. More staff who are better paid and better trained. Less managers filling in forms and taking long working lunches.
9
A tale as old as time. Ah...
9
They are playing by a sub-clause in an official treaty the SNP hoped and thought they may have forgotten all about or wouldn't ever use. Whoopsy.
9
Wow. Look at all the lizard people pretending to human beings again. Wow.
9
Medication is available.
9
Friday night with Nadine? No thanks. I'll get me coat...
9
"A protege of Jeffrey Archer." That explains a lot. Zahawi fell to the dark side a long, long time ago, it seems. I wonder how much more has apprentice-as-was Nadhim got away with?
9
Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who. He is now 80 Years Young.
9
@MFa25-t1q Higher food prices mean more profits even if less actual food is purchased overall. Some foodstuffs have tripled or more in price...
8
You have said twenty-four words too much already.
8
@Alan_Mac They meant Sunak has not faced the UK-wide electorate directly in a GE.
8
@WotsisFace Yeah, police actually trying to stop crime, whatever next
8
I'm lost. How can skin colour be a mitigating factor in this case as part of their not-guilty plea? They beat that poor man to death for absolutely nothing but shits and giggles - and IT'S ALL ON CANDID CAMERA! What?
8
"Fredo. You went against the family. Noooooooooooooooo!"
8
@tjmarx it should. pay works the way we want it to work.
8
If you've got broadband and a decent computer at home, one doesn't even need to actually go to a special building and be talked at by a teacher or lecturer. All relevant notes and reading gudes can be accessed online. Just teach yourself a subject if you are interested enough, guided by a remote helper. It's only one day of strikes. So stop moaning.
8
Fuel poverty, food banks and a cost-of-living crisis for millions of struggling people is pretty offensive, don't you think?
8
@sugarsnap1000 Every human point of view is subjective. This does not imply psychological ill-health. Harry is quite sane, I think. Whether or not he is rational or even thinking straight is another matter...
8
There is no Space Jesus. Or Lizard People, for that matter, I'm afraid. Sorry.
8
Would you stand and watch and do nothing as a human being burned to death in front of you?
7
@aj8108 They have had 12 long years?!?
7
MWWS is a real thing and quite sad.
7
Why are we helping the Ukrainian people but not the Sudanese?
7
Do solar panels even work in this dark and drizzly country?
7
I think you're right. Most of the comments on here seem to agree with you, anyway.
7
I felt this story was somewhat incomplete. Why didn't the woman pay her bills? Why did she ignore the energy company for so long? etc, etc...
7
What a pleasant and nicely spoken young man.
7
Для самообороны? Да.
7
I think it's an essential rite of passage to move out of your parent's home and care - and find your own space, your own direction in life. It's very important for a lot of people to feel and live like proper adults, have families/partnerships of their own, and control their own destinies. And, of course, to not be a financial burden on retired or elderly parents! Just another view on things.
7
Best comment on here.
7
Sounds like the UK, 2023.
7
"...all the money in the world couldn't buy back those days..."
7
I didn't.
7
@tjmarx They said a 'decent' pay deal. (my emphasis)
