"Quite frankly, we have all had a pretty grim couple of years..." Eh, you haven't, love. Nor have all your overpaid, underachieving, Tory colleagues.

Do jobless people exist in the West, South and East of the UK? Why, when the subject is unemployment, does Channel 4 always have to head North? Blatant stereotyping, I think. It's beneath them.

The Labour MP's performance was not good. She came across as ill-prepared and uninterested. Not good.

it's not a cap. if it was they wouldn't have to freeze and unfreeze it every now and then.
3
Yes. Gary Glitter anywhere near a state primary school.

@Purple_flower09 great. low pay. zero-hours contracts. no in-work benefits. gimme gimme

massively damaging

@nowisgodinyourlovelylife717 Correcting bad grammar and dodgy spelling is just an addiction with some folks. Maybe she is an English teacher?

because governments have to think ahead and consider long-term consequences. it's their job?!?
2
and let the Tories back in. thanks.
2
Highly paid senior doctors tend to vote in a 'conservative' way. work it out.

Congratulations! New life is always a cause for celebration. Well done! Now take your smugness with you and go away.
2
Because Brexshit wasn't actually about economics or jobs or trade at all. Have a guess what it was really about...
2
"physical referent"?!? Money has always been a concept, an idea, an abstract theoretical framework. You do know that all those colourful promissory notes being passed around are just squares of inked paper, don't you?
2
@someguy344 Watch Starmer's reaction statement to the budget again. He disagreed with the Tories on many things. There is a clear difference there.
2
@plokijplokij97 They should have an opinion on it at least.

or they just come up with naked bribes and dodgy sops when the situation calls for it

The Tories always pick on the most vulnerable in society: the people who can't fight back. Having a hard time with the cost of living? Well, it's not our fault, they say. It's those pesky illegals in small boats; it's those lazy work-shy Northerners; it's those benefit junkies living in 5* hotels and smoking crack all day. It's those brown people who have just moved in down the road who can't speak English very well. Blame them.

@someguy344 The Tories steal all of Labour's good ideas, eventually. So if there is any positive things in the budget...Labour would have done them all years ago already. And much more on top. Labour is very similar to the Tories..but quicker!
1
old Tory idea. nothing new about it.

blade runner
1
slow poverty is better than quick poverty?!?

@Purple_flower09 If you think an elderly person sat freezing in a damp home they can't afford to heat is greedy...well, shame on you. Older people tend to vote Tory (on average) for all sorts of reasons, evil being only one of them. The triple lock is a bribe, a near-sop, for a Tory fanbase that already exists, nothing more.

Did lockdowns save lives? Are people alive now who would have died if lockdowns never existed? Yes or no.
