  1. Why is it appalling? I don't understand?!? The reporter took some photos on her phone of some of the kind messages left by the concerned locals and then read them out for the benefit of the viewers watching at home who obviously cannot read them for themselves. Maybe you would prefer it if she grabbed a few cards from the grief pile and held them up for the camera? Or does a mobile phone (an advanced piece of kit) look less professional than an old-fashioned reporters' notebook and biro? I accept your apology for being negative. Most of us deserve the benefit of the doubt and you're one of us, so to speak. Maybe next time...don't be so negative. Most of us in this crazy world just want to get on and live and not do any harm or injury to our fellow humans. I'm sure the reporter is a nice person and wants to do a good job and not cause any offense, etc, etc. I could be wrong of course - but I'd rather make a few mistakes every so often than be a negative person all the time. Sorry for the lecture. But a few people have said the same thing on here and I don't know why. It's the least important detail of the news item, that's for sure...
