California Franchise Tax Board tried this crap with me when I left Sacramento in 2010. They actually sent me a bill for the entire year for 2010. Like yourself there Louis....I was ready. I moved officially on June 20th. That is when I had a "signed deal" with my buddy back in Texas to live with him for a couple months before I got my own place again. Because it was before 181 days, I am not considered a full year resident, 181+ days (usually June 30th) and you are considered a full year resident in California. Even if you moved on July 1st.
