  3. Schools suck. Because governments run them, and they always standardize things, and are slow to adapt, change, or promote things that work better and deprecate things that don't work as well. Thus evolutionary improvement of teaching becomes frozen and is extremely slow to change. This is what you get for wanting big government, standardizing everything to the point of stagnation, all in the name of "i don't want some people to teach religion to their kids"
