literally everyone talks about it like it's a credit score. they don't at all mention how if your kid joins the military, your score goes up by a little, but if you criticize the gov on social media, it goes down by a lot. This must be the equivalent of america's PRISM program before Snowden blew the whistle on it, where the gov was trying to roll it out behind the scenes quietly.

Because China looks at your political behavior then punish you or reward you with financial things. if your kid joins the military it's + points. If you criticize the gov on social media it's - points. then they will reward or punish you with financial stuff, and pretend like it's only a financial credit score. This is what they're pushing/hiding, to make everyone think it's just a financial credit score. and you fell for it.

@yewsingooi9573 because china pegged their current to be 6x below the dollar, and that creates a much favorable export situation for china. or because huawei and tiktok leaves backdoors and data collection spying and feeds it to the chinese government, which creates a security risk, especially if US gov officials end up using huawei phones? so ignorant. if you're going to accuse someone of bias, at least first don't be massively ignorant of both perspectives.

But that isn't the social score system at all.

Even people in the comments seem to be conflating the punishment/rewards for the behaviors tracked. The gov can decide a b c behaviors are good or bad, then decide to reward or punish you with x y z. just because x y z are financial doesn't mean a b c are financial. they can very well decide that a b c is stuff like criticizing the government is bad, then punish you with x y z, not being able to rent bicycles. This seems to be a blindspot of the Chinese in the video and in the comments here. Like they have a blindspot for how this can be abused.

bad logic. what it shows is that people aren't aware of it, whether it exists or not. people not being aware of it doesn't prove that it doesn't exist. If everyone in China all talks like the sun doesn't exist, that doesn't prove the sun doesn't exist to ascertain whether it exists or not, it's much better to go to more credible sources, like government documents or data collection records, or people in great financial standing getting punished for political behaviors.

because china is super untrustworthy?? duh? they hide covid documents, spread lies that covid originated in Maryland, won't explain how you can schedule order organ transplants without having organs to harvest on hand cough xinjiang *cough*, etc. come on.

@haruzanfuucha his "meme" doesn't prove his point or disproves it. improve your logical thinking.

@hoangvu9360 if criticizing the government on social media is "evil", since it results in negative social score, then that's EXACTLY why the west is criticizing the system. smh

@everbeever fallacy. you don't need to go to china to answer this. there are other and better ways of ascertaining this.
