If a new religion, complete with its tactics that hook into our minds, can be cooked up in modern times, despite us knowing all about the religious tactics, then just imagine how vulnerable people would have been to religious ideas in the past before science and clear thinking ever got widespread... they would have had no chance.

  11.  @amraceway  it's not meaningfully different, at least not in any legitimate sense. literally all justice is social. you don't provide or exact or take away justice from non-living beings like rocks. justice applies only to living things, which is inherently social.
