  2. Just FYI to everyone, Korean culture is still quite conservative and a simple drug usage mention is likely to be a giant scandal, so when a native Korean says X person has a drug problem, it's going to be based on reported headlines and they will most likely give it really heavy weighting.

  3.  @FictionHubZA  yeah. uniting koreas would mean china loses their buffer state (let's be real. noone wants to unite under the North Korean government). and so China would invade north korea for many of the same reasons Russia invaded Ukraine. Fun fact, North Korea has some of the largest known uraniuim mining sites and the most stonge-henge-like ancient structures Attempts at reunification would be a tug of war with a monster truck on one end and a pack of bears on the other. So until US the China aren't political and ideological enemies (e.g. if RoC won the communists in chinese civil war), idealistic south koreans who ignore the realities of geopolitics of the situation are naive like the anti-nuclear environmentalists in america.

  4. inheritance tax is a crime against humanity. You work to provide for your family, but as soon as you're unable to, the state steps in and shakes you down for 50% so that it can't go to your kids. You already have income tax, sales tax, all kinds of other taxes, but you hit them super hard as soon as there is a family tragedy.
