  1. French is right in between English and Spanish, since latin created both spanish and french, and english borrowed a ton from french. japanese and korean have very similar structure, but very different vocab other than chinese-derived vocab.

  2. try to listen to something better than CNN or any other mainstream american news. there are lots of great tv shows and movies.
