if anyone has read the communist manifesto, it necessarily makes communism autocratic. It says people must overthrow and break every existing social standard and institutional structures... FORCIBLY. not reform. not peacefully. FORCIBLY change EVERYTHING. There's a reason why communist takeovers always ban all other parties. it's written in the manifesto itself. It views other viewpoints as the very things that need to be forcibly overthrown. And there's a practical need for why communists always end up being autocratic - when communist countries do a real election, they lose by a landslide... which means people don't want communism. So that's a threat to ushering in the communist utopia... so the communists believe their communist vanguard must lead the resistant people to the communist utopia. And since they're already not shy about using force to overthrow and ban all other viewpoints, OF COURSE they will have no qualms about brutally crushing protests in the name of their utopian vision.
