Every auto maker in America went bankrupt at some point except ford and Tesla. The mighty Dutch and British east india companies that was basically THE companies for their respective counturies for centuries are no more. Many more examples you can point to and many many many more to come. As of now, why wouldn't you expect to have a handful of companies that manage to get huge for a while for each industry? Whatever solutions we may come up with or try, and try and monitor we should, it isn't going to be some big top down government monopoly. That' would be like killing the patient because he's sick.
