  1. Literally an analogy cannot be identical to the actual thing. It's astounding how so many people object to an analogy on irrelevant difference between the analogy and the actual thing. Analogies are used to highlight one or multiple RELEVANT identical aspects about the comparison, not EVERY single irrelevant aspect.
