  1. Even as an American, I didn't know how much an ounce was until I was in my 30's. Also, why is ounce weight and ounce volume both called ounce? Ounce volume is called fluid ounce, but has nothing to do with whether something is a fluid or not. English, not just it's measurement is a fkn mess.
