Higher interest rates are only a temporary problem, in the longer term it will result in more houses on the market, because people will not be able to afford the mortgage and sell up. People will not be able to borrow so much so house prices will drop. Then you can get in with less debt. If interest rates drop later, then you are quids in. The real problem is when you get in during a period of low interest rates, because you have to borrow more, and thus over extend during a period when interest rates can only rise. Then you are fuktd when they do, a la today’s recent mortgage slaves.
