  1. Employers employ the number of people the company requires who have the skills the company requires. That is discrimination. Nobody expects a company to open its doors to anyone and everyone. Discrimination is accepted as essential. And the argument that we should not discriminate against immutable characteristics, while noble, is not that simple. I'll give you an example: Blood type is immutable. If you go to the hospital and are given blood that is not your blood type, you may die. Therefore the hospital must discriminate on blood type because blood type cannot be changed. Another example: We do not let lions roam the streets because they are dangerous wild animals and cannot change their behaviour, therefore we must discriminate against them. A leopard cannot change its spots.
