  1. Last time I wanted to make a claim on insurance, I worked out that even if the insurance had paid out, after I subtracted the excess, the payment would only be equal to what I paid to them in premiums. I was asking for my owned premiums back. But they would not pay out. I may as well have put the premiums in the bank, it's less likely, but not a certainty, that the bank would have refused a withdrawal. Anyway, I cancelled the insurance.
