A guy I work with hired one of these and got caught speeding on the motorway in the earlier hours at 122 mph. Said it was very easy to reach that speed. We told him when in prison the first thing you do is pick a fight with the biggest man you can find. Then you will be left alone.

@davideselvi3906 Trust is easily lost and hard to regain.

Not quite with you on the exterior design and it's freshness. The main problem is those headlights which were obviously a last minute bodge. And I prefer the more upright larger grille of the later editions. But I like the bonnet bulges and curves. A Jaguar needs to show some muscles.

The Defender is an icon of what Britain once was.

I first saw sat nav in the digital dash in a Range Rover, I'm certain they did it first.

And none of them appear to have indicators.

Can't decide about these. First I kept an open mind and it looked like they had made a serious effort. But then the price was announced and I just thought it was too expensive and a bit of a yuppie mobile. Then it appears to have some offroad chops. Then it looks like other things might be more capable. Plus while the old one was unreliable it was fixable but this is not going to be reliable or easily fixed. But it has broader appeal. I dunno. For me it is as much about the brand image. If Land Rover is not the most capable offroader that can endure anything then what is the Land Rover image? They are not known for reliability, comfort, efficiency, performance. Just that they will go anywhere. Furthermore why is a luxury road going Land Rover necessary? That's what Range Rover is. Overall I think they have missed an opportunity. They could have married modern technology with up to date offroad mechanics to create something really next generation. What they really should have considered is an all electric offroader. That would have been a game changer.

I always liked these cars. The hatchback looks better.

I wonder if that guy with the A6 is watching.

Why are there no pregnant Barbie dolls? Because Ken came in a different box.

Crims drive Tesla's

If head gaskets fail that consistently and then work reliably once fixed, then why did they not just fit them twice in the factory? 🤪😄

There must be a reason why Aston Martin was absent.

The design is very good, the vertical tail lights are inspired. But that name, R-Sport. Just can't say it without it blending into arse-port.

Something you should know about Police cars is that they are exempt from MOT and regular servicing.
1
@shabba890 A number of officers have died in their cars due to lack of servicing.

Those boxes to block your key's signal are called faraday cages. Putting the keys in the microwave would work just as well, but you do risk causing an explosion.

It looks good, outside and in.

I liked the quip about the MP4-12C and the printer. An MPG of 13.4 makes me think for many people this would be a hobby car. If you were about to do a long trip you might like to use it for the comfort and enjoyment but you would have to really consider whether it was that important to drop a ton on fuel costs.

There's another channel where the guy has a fleet of cars. Superspeedster Rob. He has a fleet of sports cars and they all have flat batteries or engine warnings and none of them work. The thing is, if you have so many cars that you can't drive them all often enough to keep them running then doesn't that mean you are not satisfied with them?

My guess about the original mini being made for so long and the car industry is that in this country we have bad managers backed up by bad politicians. Nobody does anything unless they have to and by then it's too late. If you work as a manager then make sure you don't fall into that category.

Temperature controls that go up in half degree increments are the kind of thing they do in German cars so they can boost about precision.

When it came out most reviews said similar things. It drove well but managed to be comfortable as well but the interior was a bit cheap and boring. Being a brand new car Jag looks to have put all the development money into the chassis and suspension. Leaving the interior under done. If they had to sacrifice something to stay within budget then the interior was probably the most sensible. After all, interiors get changed as often as underwear but the chassis is the foundation for all the following revisions. Apparently they have updated the interior for the new version. It's just a pity they didn't sell better from the start. The big reviewers in the car press don't even acknowledge its existence. My guess is their paymasters don't like it driving better than the rivals.

We can do expensive cars, luxurious or sporty, fairly well here. But we completely lack an affordable mass market brand. Jaguar, for instance, could not do a small electric car without all the leather and luxury gadgets. Because even though a more affordable car would be an option for more buyers, it would cheapen the brand. Rover could have offered cars to those buyers but they were run into the ground by crooks.

What about an XK8? Bit long - like a land yacht but beautiful looks, especially the first and second generation.

Can't is not a word in my dictionary.
