If there are aliens that can reach our planet they would be so advanced that we would be of no more interest to them than an ant is to us.

@joshuabarrett2305 But they would have to be so far advanced beyond us to get here that what could we offer them? Our natural resources are not exclusive to us.

@JOHNNY-zx1lc To something that can travel across the universe? Really what do we have to offer?

@clutchuwu1355 And what makes that so special. There must be many other planets with a molten iron core, perhaps their own.

@MultiFirelover I think its a psy op.
16
@srenlarsen4531 They're not really important to us and we mainly leave them alone unless they are a pest.

This must be the most controversial post I have every made after 'disc brakes on road bikes drag'. Lesson to self - be prepared when challenging the alien life narrative.
3
@vegasjace9774 Yeah, they would have as much interest in us as we have in ants.
2
@deezel jeck That was my first thoughts on the subject long ago. It's a plausible theory. But if we are hypothesising about aliens then I wouldn't make assumptions that they would think like us or even be restricted to the same dimensions were are.
2
@BlackOneSaturni The idea that aliens can get here and behave malevolently implies they both far more advanced and as crude as we are at the same time.
2
@clutchuwu1355 My guess is the videos about the tic tac etc are grooming for exactly such an admission. The question is whether it is real or a psyop.
2
@RENZEENO I didn't say ants were not of interest to us I just said I think aliens would have only a passing interest to us and would have no need for malevolence.
2
@lenardgamez3154 No he confirmed my thinking.
2
Captain Hands Well I never said hypothetical aliens would not be interested in us. But I don't accept they would see us as a threat and need to be hostile.
2
@Fectivan All dogs are the same species. Interbreeding between species results in males that are sterile so the hybrid line cannot continue.
2
@theinternet206 It's a better theory. Rendlesham Forest incident next to Bentwaters where they housed nuclear warheads during the cold war. But I still think it is a psyop.

https://www.jpost.com/omg/former-israeli-space-security-chief-says-aliens-exist-humanity-not-ready-651405 It's a BS psyop.
1
@Eddie-xo2bd It's a good point that life is apparently so rare that they would be interested. I would discount option 1 for that reason.
1
@felixibarra8806 If we are making up stories, we can make up anything. Why not say they are a million years ahead of us? I don't see any evidence that there are any.
1
@GillfigGarstang Agreed.

@עִמָּנוּאֵל That's a good argument.

@עִמָּנוּאֵל It's a good argument but, after thinking about it a bit, I'm not convinced. Firstly, I did not say an alien would not be interested in us, I said no more than we have for another lesser being. And your assertion that as a species becomes more intelligent, it becomes more interested in lesser species, is unconvincing. There is nuance in the type of interest. Is a human interested in an ant in the same way that an Ant-Eater is? Hardly. Not only do we have less interest in an ant, but some of our interest is benign rather than entirely malevolent.
