First, they did not want to investigate, and now they want to exclusively investigate. They want to pick certain events and have them removed from the investigation they did not want to do!

They are not asking for the report to be delayed. They are asking for events, of their choosing, to not be referenced so that their own investigation is not influenced. Well, their investigators should know already not to read the report, or they should be instructed to refrain. If they do not, then they have no integrity and neither does their investigation. If the Met succeeds in getting parts of the report removed, then surely the full report can be published after their investigation. So lookout for an unnecessary demand for it to be never published in full.
