  1. Wind turbines are called renewable because they have a lifespan of 30 years and have to be replaced. All the turbines put up in the 90's are being scrapped and they cannot recycle the blades so they are putting them in land fill!

  3. Where I live the university has just built a campus literally on the beach. you can walk out of the lecture theatre, cross a path and there is sand under your feet. Further down they are building a concert hall on the beach. In order to put these buildings up there was great borrowing. And where there are buildings there is insurance. Borrowing and insurance both require risk assessment. So either they didn't do any risk assessment of sea level rise or they concluded the risk was not high enough to prevent the lender lending and the insurer insuring. Maybe they think the sea level will not rise any further because they worked off the computer models that said the ice caps would melt by 2014 and they believe they have gone already.
