  1. I'm a proponent of boycotts, the BBC in particular, and I have questioned whether it's the same as cancel culture. Are we being hypocritical? No, it's different. Maybe only in the minutest detail: Cancel culture is the prevention of speech, whereas to boycott is to ignore. A person can say what they like, but I don't have to listen.
