@ernststavroblofeld7734 2008. A bipartisan betrayal. Preceded by 8 years of corporate raiding of middle class wealth. And they had the nerve to hand the public the bill, throwing Wall St's bill for corruption up onto the public tab: national debt. You're suffering from MyPartyCanDoNoWrong.

@amylieu6084 "...liberals are all about ..."?!? It's about the money. https://www.dol.gov/sites/default/files/newsroom/newsreleases/OFCCP20170071.pdf

@donnahollingberry5105 "in and out of 'our' area" - what makes you think they're not of 'your' area.
7
@jimmyhaley727 Old time Democrat voters should recognize there is no "Democrat" party, they're just a branch of benevolence veneered branch of Wall St. Very thinly veneered at that.
6
@mrbubetube And everything was just fine before Trump? No, it wasn't. Seattle was working on it's third "tent city" well before Trump came along. You're suffering from MyTeamCanDoNoWrong.
5
@HiighRow Your destitute poor are right in front of your face, and what, you're claiming "on average..." bull? How uneducated is Seattle's population to accept what's in front of their eyes?!?

@07Trot Seattle is a tech town. The state of Washington gives industry billions in tax exemptions and tech industry imports thousands of cheap foreign white collar workers from 3rd world to supplant citizen workers. This is common in all the blue major metros. This obliterates citizen workers, and leaves little to no housing nor funds to address the damage.
3
@janischristiansen6689 It's about the state's incessant subsidizing industry with tax exemptions (as an NH resident, I'm stunned at the level of WA's subsidies) and industry's incessant importation of ever cheaper labor. Or succinctly, inept and corrupt.

Poverty causes crime to rise, and education to fail, and homelessness, and etc. etc.
3
@blackconservativeogee9390 Entirely possible, at least in your estimation. Thanks for reaching for "label I can dismiss someone over", because that always helps.
3
@blackconservativeogee9390 Typical "conservative", when hitting the wall with their hollow philosophy, nothing but school yard ridicule.
3
@LegaliseIntellect Agree in principle. Resource exchange will likely have the same underlying contention, along with hierarchy.
2
@LegaliseIntellect Lots of theory material for sale. Nothing useful like their housing instruction, not even seeing a link to other site for it. Trains? No, still bureaucratic schedule and inefficiency. SkyTran. Theory isn't going to move the needle.
2
@no1viracocha Sorry to hear that, Juha. I was hoping some of the countries were doing a whole lot better than this.
2
@Won Honglo He's good at pointing out what's wrong. He's not good at solving what's wrong. But, he is chipping away at it, and the oligarchy's PO'ed he should touch their gravy train.
2
@cyberash3000 The primacy of industry (aka neoliberalism, globalism, corporatocracy) is a complete and utter failure.
2
@blackconservativeogee9390 Between corporate subsidy "tax breaks" to "create jobs" mostly for ever more cheap imported foreign workers, is this going to end any other way? But hey, none of that matters, because GDP's up!, aka elite income.

@dystopian2153 re: which comment?

@booklover2404 Currently reading very early American history, glorification of "family unit" was and still is built to subjugate women. Quiet and control women, with Wifey and Mommy duties - as they stripped away their legal rights to vote and own property.

Jon Smith Reads like a Limbaugh ditto head script.

@dirtydann23 There were only two non-establishment: Trump and Sanders. Ds axed Sanders, via party control over primaries: Independents can't vote in primaries in many states. Hence, Trump. If the only non-establishment on the general ballot were a cat, our president would be a cat.
1
@04gopackgo92 How does that change Seattle's extraordinary specialization in it?
1
@jameseverett9037 Odd employers never think they themselves just might be the problem. As someone who's been a senior level at work for a few decades now, grooming the youth is part of the job...
1
@TheGuy030770 This kind of bad behavior? (That's billion, as in $13 billion) https://subsidytracker.goodjobsfirst.org/prog.php?parent=&statesum=WA&fedsum=&major_industry_sum=&hq_id_sum=&company_op=starts&company=&major_industry%5B%5D=&hq_id=&free_text=&subsidy_level=&subsidy_op=%3E&subsidy=&face_loan_op=%3E&face_loan=&subsidy_type%5B%5D=&sub_year%5B%5D=&state=&federal=

James Rooks Murdock rabble rouses in both the US and the UK, and his messaging is basically people who make $700 per hour convincing people that make $25 an hour that people who make $7.25 per hour are the problem.

@johnathansaanga4432 Using police is theatrics. It changes nothing, and makes fools of them.
1
@ytubeanon First, why is that funny? And second, not at all likely a coincidence the homeless would be mainly white. Seattle is a tech town and tech imports a lot of cheap 3rd world white collar labor, to supplant citizen workers.
1
@jrutman4441 Our corrupt governance allowed big Pharma to push opioids. 80% of drug addicts started with prescription drugs. Worst opioid use in Ohio and NH, and they don't look like Seattle.
1
@jrutman4441 Fix root cause: Pharma + WA's industry subsidies (no monies for solving) + incessant influx of cheap foreign workers (supplanted citizens/wage suppression/no extra housing to accomdate). Only treating symptoms (homelessness and drug addiction) is not a solution. Even more ignorant, try policing this away. It's not a police thing.

@tombolo4120 Years back, wrote my senator asking why she voted for allowing corp to give synthetic blood, w/bad survival record, to patients in ambulances, w/o consent. She said where else are they going to test drive their (failed) product. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt.
1
@tombolo4120 There's nothing pragmatic about it, it's corruption to presume corps have a right/entitlement to experiment on public w/o consent. Hospitals kicked them out as survival rate dropped from 100% to 50%.
1
As near as I can tell, Reagan/Thatcher was a cross-pollination of worst practices.
1
@awaken1761 There is nothing socialist about neoliberalism, and we are overrun politically, economically and culturally with neoliberalism. By/for/of benefit of the elite.
1
@awaken1761 Well aware public welfare is a circuitous corporate welfare. Fix root cause: corruption of politicians.
1
You people are just plain nuts. Washington's so subsidized the rich, they can't afford to run their cities. If you're working at one of these companies, you're benefiting from their homelessness. https://subsidytracker.goodjobsfirst.org/prog.php?statesum=WA
