  1. If you're willing to update it yourself, there are completely livable 3/2 homes all over San Antonio that are still selling for around 195K. I'm glad I am not a young person itching to buy because I would be packing up the family for San Antonio right now. Not the ideal spot, but definitely one of the most bang-for-your-buck areas right now. Florida is now on the (slow) road back to cheapville once again, but there are too many downsides to Florida.

  2. Recession/depression for some, boom time for others. That's what happens when the government shamelessly uses the money printer instead of building a real sustainable economy. The bond market used to prevent such grotesque distortions from going on for too long, but it seems to be permanently broken.
