@DutchCommando He said DEF fluid, not DPF fluid. There is no such thing as DPF fluid . DPF stands for diesel particulate matter filter. It builds up soot inside then icenerate it by burning fuel. Creates all kind of problems.

@myturn2diesundsvall659 He clearly says no DPF. Also he says that the engine does the job of the DPF trough a higher engine compression ratio. Are we talking about the same thing? DPF vs DEF?

Freight is cheap in the US. We can't pay for trucks like that. Otherwise Volvo which makes trucks in Europe and North America would have done it long ago.

@sic22l I don't know about the Scania V8 , but I think the Mercedes V8 truck engine has a separate fuel pump for each cylinder 8 of them. He also mentioned that the Scania engine has a higher compression ratio in order to meet the emissions standards. That costs. Plus disk breaks, plus hydraulic brak retarder etc. I think this truck on US market will be $350 000
