  1. ​ @tomsoki5738 well, rearguard was mostly french, but commanded by british officer, who told no one was left behind, while most of the rearguard was actually left behind. Pretty easier to not surrender when your country isnt fully invaded though. Not saying british was the bad guys, only few high ranked british was.
