  1. Believe it or not: 1. Spacecraft are propelled by rockets, not computers. 2. Early European explorers managed to navigate around the globe without computers. A task actually more challenging than navigating to the moon, because they couldn't see their destination, and most of the time, they couldn't even see the stars they were navigating by.

  2. The telemetry data fro the spacecraft was as important, in historical terms, as the telemetry from a cars computer. Only of interest if something goes wrong.
