As you illustrate, many on the right reach conclusions about the science based on whether or not the proposed solutions fit with their ideological preferences (probably, in many instances, the same can be said of the left). But logically that's just nuts, the natural laws that govern the physical world aren't going to bend to peoples ideological preferences, peoples views on the science should not be determined by their political or economic ideology (though if it's a religious thing I suppose faith means you can put aside logic all together).
