Russia has no right to dictate whom the Ukrainian people elect to be their leaders. That Putin thinks otherwise is just a reflection of his contempt for democracy.

@thetad1242 the UK deferred their elections, sceduled for 1940 until 1945, and the UK hadn't even been invaded. The Ukraine elections were deferred due to the Russian invasion, so far that deferment has been just 3 months. If Russia brought its army back to Russia and ended hostilities, Ukraine would be able to hold elections.

They attacked and occupied the town's administration building, police station, and SBU building. The unit were Russian Armed Forces 'volunteers' under the command of Russian GRU colonel Igor Girkin. Girkin said that this action sparked the Donbas War. He said "I'm the one who pulled the trigger of war. If our unit hadn't crossed the border, everything would have fizzled out, like in Kharkiv, like in Odesa".

@shafts2447 how about Russian nazi military units like Wagner, Rusich, Russian National Unity, the Imperial Legion, and Espanola? And their nazi leaders: Utkin, Alexey Milchakov, Yan Petrovsky, Alexander Barkashov? Today, there are more fascists in Russia than in any other country.

@irinashapovalova2494 perhaps you don't realize that most Germans, under the rule of Hitler, thought he was leading their country to greatness against the hostile foreigners. Because Hitler controlled the narrative, inside Germany, as Putin does today inside Russia, they believed Germany's aggression against its neighbors was justified, just as most Russian's today see Russia's aggression as justified.
