@alterdrache you should go check up on how little conflict there has actually been in the Donbas since Zelinsky was elected in 2019. Answer: Very little.

@alterdrache There had been no change in the line of control for years and the level of conflict had dropped to a level where there were less than 10 civilian deaths from artillery and gunfire or other military actions on both sides each year for over 3 years. Compare that to the tens of thousands of civilians killed in the Donbas by Russia since February 2022. So no, they were under no threat from Ukraine. The reality is that Russian was running a propaganda campaign claiming that there was enough violence going on in the Donbas to justify their invasion when there was not.

He's made Ukraine a country of proud people willing to stand up and fight for their country against a thug and dictator who tried to subjugate them . . . but don't forget, Putin helped him a lot.

@yo-gz8rv Zelensky was elected by Ukrainian's and remains popular because he's pursuing policies that are popular with Ukrainians.
