@haydonditchburn2194 there has not been constant shelling, in fact between 2019 and February 2022 there was very little military action going on in the Donbas, the annual death toll of civilians from active military operations was about a dozen a year on both sides, compared to 2,000 in 2014, 800 in 2015, and up to 20,000 in 2022 after the Russian invasion.

@EndIslam4ever Ukraine has been a member of the UN since 1946. Russia pledged to respect Ukraine's internationally recognized borders in 1994.
