@alyssag.5758 NY can't survive a week without the rest of us. However we do quite well without NY, since we're mostly ignored, or taken advantage of, by NY.

You've already given up your rights and freedoms, every time you fire up your cellphone, Xbox, YouTube, and the list goes on. Well on.

@alyssag.5758 Oh yes that stock market sham that manipulates the price of our crops to beat us every year. But we ain't totally dumb, we use it against you when we sell you beef. And I'm not a newsy at all, except right now for the virus keeping up. NY and you and all who think like you can vanish, or stay totally closed off from us, and you just see how we carry on without you. For the obverse - how are you without the food we grow.

@alyssag.5758 NY: "Help us our city is broke", now "Help us we need medical people - "Help us we weren't bright enough to have medical gear ahead". Beg your stock market for help from here on.

@judy8809 I'm not the one whining - NY is for 40+ years and some of us are tired of hearing it. And that would be "we" as in all the people New Yawkuhs laugh at and call dumb. So you are a NYer, or a SoCal druggie?

Bessie Staton I do know about more than one city, and NY is the only one always begging help while talking about being the best. Get away from the city and see real living someday, it's fun.

@Francisco Abreu I'm not talking civil war and don't see where it would help. Don't read yourself into my words, I say very well what I want to say.

@dhuang81514 I don't know anyone here financed by NY. Many own their equipment outright. Go brag about your whiny city to someone else.

@judy8809 I am a retired lapidary in Iowa, and while I love my home state, I had a most pleasant time in the Blue Ridge mountains of NC, and it was a close decision when time came to go back home. Best wishes for you!

@judy8809 Long strange story, I lived in Cowee Valley, and accidentally became friends with a ruby mine owner. I enjoyed our work so much, I bought gear and made a lifetime of it, and making jewelry for my gems. Don't do so much now but maintain a full shop, and having taken some time off to do other stuff, will be doing some cutting this year with short video lessons, because what was nearly a lost art in America seems to have a whole new generation interested now. I suspect I won't make a dime on it, but maybe fun to do.
