  9.  @bj6437  Assault rifle is basically a lightweight rifle that fires smaller intermediate size cartridge, and capable of firing in full auto. The AK fires cartridge smaller than the Mosin nagant, and it also can fire semi auto. That makes it an assault rifle.

  31. The original AR-15 and the modern one has one difference: modularity. Modern ARs are equipped with rails and handguards that can be swapped or modified with attachments. Other than that, it's the same design on the same principle. The M16 rifles has 20" barrel The M4 has 14.5" barrel Both are similar in design, and are based on the AR platform rifles.
