  2. When people drown in the winter, the body sinks to the bottom and floats back up in the spring when the water starts to warm up. The aroma of human remains that have been on the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay for around six months is one that I will never forget.

  3. People wouldn't change their behaviour because, generally speaking, people are too short sighted to care about the long term consequences of their actions/lifestyle. Besides, you'd have a hell of a time convincing the other half of the population that there is even a problem that needs solving. We currently have huge numbers of people who don't even believe we are causing climate change. And those people, whose lifestyle choices will likely cause them to not be around as long, are going to ruin the planet for those of us who take better care of ourselves so we'll be around longer.
